  • Seattle Trades Away Smoak

    smoak3312014Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jack Zduriencik announced today that first baseman Justin Smoak was claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays. "Duck Dynasty" Family Launches New Gun Line

Days after A&E reinstated Phil Robertson following a short suspension for making anti-gay comments, Duck Commander, the company Robertson started 40 years ago, has launched a new gun line. Mossberg, a gun maker headquartered in North Haven, Conn., has teamed with Duck Commander to release nine shotguns, two semiautomatic rifles and a semiautomatic pistol.

Mossberg also released a series of commercials last month that shows the Robertson family hunting and holding the new line of guns. “Let’s go kill some ducks, boys,” a voice says in one video. In another video titled “Happiness,” Robertson asks, “You know what makes me happy, ladies and gentlemen? To blow a mallard drake’s head smooth off.”

After calling homosexuality a sin and quoting from Scriptures in an interview with GQ magazine, Robertson, 67, was suspended from Duck Dynasty in mid-December. Last week, A&E released a statement, which read, “After discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.”
