(NEW YORK) -- Think Americans are in love with their digital devices? You thought right. A Nielsen survey released Monday says that the average adult in the U.S. own four gadgets, such as high-def TVs, Internet-connected computers and smartphones. What's more, checking content on those devices eats up 60 hour per week, according to the survey of more than 2,000 social media users.
Americans are so consumed by social media that 40 percent of people ages 18 to 24 claim to use it in the bathroom, up from 32 percent last year.
Another sign of our device-crazy times: over half of respondents ages 25 to 34 admit to using social media while on the job.
