Top Labor Day 2013 'Made in America' Sales

b_250_0_16777215_00_images_obgrabber_2013-08_e919202ee2.jpgTom Pennington/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- As Wal-Mart leads an effort to bring more manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. by buying an additional $50 billion in American-made products over the next 10 years, this Labor Day weekend retailers across the country are offering sales on items made in America. The nation's largest retailer says its efforts will create more than 1,000 domestic jobs in the next decade.

Wal-Mart says that "Made in USA Certified" is the only outside third party certification selected for its commitment, and the company is working with other large retailers to ensure products are properly labeled. The Federal Trade Commission simply requires that a product advertised as "Made in USA" be "all or virtually all" made domestically.

Here are 'Made in America' deals offered by retailers across the country to honor the nation's workers this Labor Day.

All American Clothing:

The All American Clothing Co. is offering free shipping on all orders of $50 or more at allamericanclothing.com throughout Labor Day weekend.

Ball and Buck:

If you spend $250, receive $25 off at Boston-based men's clothing and gear company. All flip flops will be $15, while shoppers who buy one T-shirt can get a second one 50 percent off.

Best Buy:

Best Buy is offering $100 to $450 off certain Whirlpool appliances made in America through Sept. 7. These include $170 savings on a Whirlpool high-efficiency washer originally priced at $799.99. Also included are refrigerators at $1,099.99 after $200 savings and a self-cleaning double-oven gas range at $899.99 after a $450 discount.

Kiehl's Since 1851:

In Kiehl's retail stores nationwide this weekend, receive a complimentary "Healthy Skin Consultation" and 20-minute facial, plus one deluxe sample of your choice. On Kiehls.com, purchase the skincare company's new Super Multi-Corrective Cream, described as an "advanced lifting and firming moisturizer," through Sept. 4 and enter code SUPER at checkout for two deluxe travel-ready samples of Kiehl's recommended anti-aging routine. Plus, enjoy complimentary shipping on your Super Multi-Corrective Cream order.

Omaha Steaks:

Through September, Omaha Steaks is offering a "Thrill the Grill" assortment of filet mignons, top sirloins, boneless chicken breasts, boneless pork chops, Omaha Steaks burgers, and stuffed baked potatoes for $49.99, normally $162.

OTTE:

OTTE is offering 20 percent off Clare Vivier handbags, which are made in the U.S., with the code BS20.

Walmart stores are offering deals on everyday household items that will come in handy for barbecues and cook-outs, like Reynolds Heavy Duty Foil, the store brand Great Value 8.875" Soak Proof Foam Plates, Hefty plastic cups, and a Coleman 50-quart wheeled cooler. Walmart is also selling, on discounted "rollback", Kingsford Charcoal that is made in the U.S. with imported parts.
