"Ordinary Love," featured in the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, is nominated for best original song. Its competition includes the smash hit "Let It Go," from Frozen, and Pharrell Williams' "Happy," from Despicable Me 2.

Speaking with TheWrap.com Monday at the Academy's nominees luncheon, Bono said U2's appearance at the Oscars will mark the "only band performance of the song."

ABC will air the Oscars live on March 2.
