Frontman Mike Score tells the Los Angeles Daily News the band parked their van at a Comfort Inn early Sunday, following a performance in nearby Bellflower. Hotel security footage revealed that the vehicle was stolen about a half-hour later.

The stolen goods, worth up to 70 thousand dollars, include electric guitars, a customized drum kit, and computer drives containing a solo album on which Score had been working.

Score believes the thief followed him and his band mates from the concert to the hotel. He says, "People who do this kind of thing will never have a real life; I think karma in the end will come around and take whatever they have got."

A Flock of Seagulls ended up playing a free concert in Woodland Hills later that day using rented equipment.
