According to a statement released by his family, Lomax passed away Monday, after a brief illness, at his home in England. He was 69.

Lomax's debut album, Is This What You Want?, was produced by George Harrison, as was his single "Sour Milk Sea." Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr also appeared on the disc but it never became a big hit.  His most recent album, The Ballad of Liverpool Slim, arrived in 2009.
