Second Volume of Two-Part Eric Clapton Book Series Due Out Next Month
-- The second volume of a two-book series about Eric Clapton's musical career is scheduled to be published on October 29. Eric Clapton Day by Day: The Later Years, 1983-2013 takes a detailed look at the guitar great's various recording projects and concert appearances over the last few decades.
The 352-page tome was written by veteran music journalist Mark Roberty, and features tour dates, set lists, and information about recording sessions. It also will include numerous illustrations, as well as quotes and recollections from many of the musicians and others who've worked closely with Clapton. Among the many events the book covers are the 1985 Live Aid concerts, Cream's 2005 reunion shows, Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festivals, and his 2008 performances with former Blind Faith band mate Steve Winwood.
The two Eric Clapton Day by Day books are being released in celebration of the rock legend's 50 years in the music business. The new volume picks up where Eric Clapton Day by Day: The Early Years, 1963-1982 -- which was published in May -- leaves off.
Eric Clapton Day by Day: The Later Years is available for pre-order now at a variety of online booksellers. A deluxe edition featuring both volumes also will be sold.
Roberty has penned many books about the three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, including 1986's Eric Clapton -- A Visual Documentary, 1991's Slowhand -- The Life and Music of Eric Clapton, 1993's Eric Clapton -- The Complete Recording Sessions 1963-1992, and 1994's The Eric Clapton Album -- Thirty Years of Music & Memorabilia.
