EVENT: RED FLAG WARNING
Dry and unstable air mass above 2000 feet through Friday evening.
A very dry and somewhat unstable mid-level air mass will provide an environment that supports active fire behavior.
Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 pm pdt Friday for a dry and unstable air mass above 2000 feet elevation in fire weather zones 652...658...659 and 661.
Affected are - .fire weather zones 652...658...659 and 661. This includes the Olympic mountains and the Cascades west of the crest. This warning is targeted to locations above 2000 feet elevation.
Temperatures...around 15 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Humidity...falling below 25 percent Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon...with poor nighttime humidity recovery through Saturday morning.
Impacts...outdoor burning is not recommended.
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A dry and unstable air mass with warm temperatures can contribute to active fire behavior. In western Washington, significant growth on existing fires has historically taken place under such conditions. July 30, 2015
