Local Kids in Need
With the start of the school year literally upon us, and many youngsters gearing up for the new school year, it’s important for all of us to remember to help our neighbors. There are two fantastic opportunities to provide food and school supplies to our community’s children in need. The first is through the Saints’ Panty Food Bank, which provides food for children throughout the year through their “Backpack Program” – please consider making cash or food donations at their local office at 214 S. Second Street, or else mail your check made out to the Saints’ Pantry to P.O. Box 1064, Shelton, WA, and write “Backpack Program” on the memo field of your check. Another great opportunity to help out is through the “Mason County Foster Children’s Back to School Backpack/Supplies Drive”, administered through DSHS. If you are able to help out please contact Annette Clevenger with the Shelton Division of Children and Family Services at 432-2070, or else you can make your check out to DSHS and mail it to her office at P.O. Box 1127, Shelton, WA, and write “Foster Children’s Back to School Supplies” on the memo field of your check. Thank you for helping out your fellow community members, especially the children in need this time of year!
