Pamela A. Hartwell

hartwellp.gifPamela Ann Hartwell, 47, of Shelton, WA passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the home of a close friend surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. Pam was born on August 7, 1964 in Newton, New Jersey to Robert R. and Elizabeth (Riker) Place Sr. She moved to Shelton when she was twelve years old, attended school, and married Don Hartwell Sr. in March of 1997.
Pamela started waitressing at the age of 15 and continued the career until her passing. She was a well known, well loved waitress with an incredible ability to remember the favorite dishes of her patrons. She leaves her legacy at some of the local restaurants here, The Pine Tree, Blondie’s and Suzan’s.

Pam’s hobbies included camping, hiking, traveling, loved the ocean, exploring old ghost towns, knitting, card playing, barbequing, and target practicing. She and her husband shared the love of their 5 dogs and the restoration of old cars.

Survivors include her husband, Don Hartwell Sr; mother, Elizabeth Place; daughters, Melissa Johnson, Rebecca Munoz, and Tiffany York; sons, Bobby Lee Jr., Jeremy Munoz, Donald Hartwell Jr. and Gary Hartwell ( Tony) all of Shelton; brothers, Robert Place (Danae Bayley), Shelton and Mark Place of McCleary. She had eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by father, Robert Place.

Memorial services will be held at St. David’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 2:00. Pamela was a blue jeans and flannel shirt sort of gal on her days off. The family asks that anyone attending the memorial dress casually in her honor. Memorial donations can be made to Western Washington Oncology, Charity Care, 3920 Capital Mall Dr. SW, Olympia, WA. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.
