Thomas R. Coleman
Thomas “Tom” Robert Coleman, 73, Belfair, WA passed away at his home on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Tom was born October 1, 1938 to Allen W. and Georgia E. (Brown) Coleman in Yelm, WA; the youngest of four brothers.
The family moved to the Puyallup area and lived there several years before moving to Mason County in 1946. Tom graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1956 and later served in the Washington National Guard. He worked as a logger with his father, Allen, and brother, Wayne, for Al Coleman Logging Company until 1991. He then worked in construction for his brother, Murry, at C & H Construction. Tom worked hard and was always busy. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, RVing, golfing and playing cards. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard. Carpentry was his passion and he built three homes for his family. His number one love was his family. He was married 19 years to Sharon Dewell; with whom he had three children. Beverly Wofford has been his loving wife for the last 25 years. Good food was always center of family gatherings. He loved providing salmon, oysters, clams, elk or venison for family and friends to enjoy. Tom loved to eat and never met a meal he didn’t like!
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Wofford, Belfair; mother, Georgia Coleman, Shelton; daughter, Holli Coleman, Seattle; sons, Rob Coleman (Helene) Shelton, and Doug Coleman (Jami), Depoe Bay, OR; brothers, Lyle Coleman (Donna), Shelton; Murry Coleman (Mary Ann), Olympia; sister-in-law, Julie Coleman, Shelton; grandchildren, Camille Coleman, Shelton and 2nd Lt. Cellec Coleman, Ft. Hood, TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Allen, and brother, Wayne.
A Celebration of Life and lunch reception will be held at the Shelton Civic Center, 525 W. Cota, Shelton on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 1:00 PM.
