Jace S. Olsen
Jace Sheldon Olsen, 2, of Shelton, WA died on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Lake Limerick. Jace was born on June 5, 2009 to Sheldon and Julie (Galler) Olsen in Salem, OR. Jace Sheldon Olsen was a handsome, adorable little boy. He was adopted and was an answer to Sheldon and Julie’s prayers. He was so loved, and his parents adored him. He loved playing trains, monster trucks, and Angry Birds. His favorite games were playing hide and seek and being tickled. He loved airplanes, helicopters, and dump trucks. He learned to crawl at nine months old and walk at thirteen months old. He was learning to count to five and knew how to sing his ABC’s. His favorite song to sing was “The Itsy Bitsy Spider.” He gave the best hugs and kisses and brought happiness to all the people around him.
Survivors include, mother, Julie Olsen, Shelton; grandparents, Gayle and Steven Galler, Las Vegas, NV and Paul and Carol Sylvester, Vernal, UT and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Steen Olsen.
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 916 N. 12th St, Shelton, WA beginning with a visitation from 9 until 11, followed by the funeral on Saturday, March 24, 2012. A second service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1078 S. McClelland, Salt Lake City, UT on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 12 noon. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.
Sheldon Olsen and his son Jace will be remembered at a memorial Saturday March 24, 2012 at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; viewing of Jace Olsen, 9:00am-11:00am and memorial and funeral services for Jace and his father, Sheldon, 11:00am-12noon. An informational blog has been set up by friends of Sheldon and Julie with a link to a Paypal account. The blog states: “In lieu of flowers and gifts, please give what you can to help Julie with funeral costs and to help aid her through this difficult time.
