Ardith A. Brown

BrownArdith.jpgArdith Annette Brown, 76, died on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Harstine Island Adult Family Home in Shelton, WA. Ardith was born on September 22, 1935 to Albert and Ruth (Stemph) Nelson in Moorhead, MN. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1954. In August of 1955, she married Donald K. Brown in Pt. Orchard, WA. Ardith was the Home Executive of the Brown family home. Raised a Lutheran, Ardith was a member of the Mason-Benson Club, a swim group, and MNWOT (A women’s investment group).
In her earlier days she was very active in her daughter’s participation in Girl Scouts as a Girl Scout leader. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, needlework and reading. Nicknamed “Me-ma” by her grandchildren, her family and her grandchildren were the true light of her life. Her devotion to them went above and beyond. The musical talents of her grandchildren were a direct reflection of that love.
Ardith is survived by her husband, Don Brown, Grapeview, WA; daughters, Donna Arcuri, Tacoma, Karen (Kim) Robblee, Puyallup, and Jeanne (Patrick) Mackin, Springfield, VA; brothers, James (Jo’Rene) Nelson, Gig Harbor and Gary (Linda) Nelson, Pt. Orchard; grandchildren, Kyle and Kelly Robblee, Brian, Angela, Brandon, and Daniel Arcuri and Samuel Mackin; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ronald.

A memorial will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Mason Benson Clubhouse, 5971 Mason Lake Drive W. Grapeview, WA at 4:00 pm. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.
