Madoline Alberta Ramsfield, 94, of Shelton, WA, passed away at her place of residence at Fir Lane Health and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Madoline was born on November 20, 1918 to Albert G. and Sadie L. (French) Zepp in Epping, North Dakota. She was one of nine children and was the last surviving sibling. While growing up in North Dakota, she went to work for the family of the man she married, Ole Ramsfield. They were married on December 9, 1940 in Glasgow, MT. Mrs. Ramsfield was a wife, homemaker and mother of eleven children. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Moose Lodge and former Simpson Recreation Associations Ladies Group of Pinochle players. Madoline enjoyed playing card games, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, shuffleboard, badminton, horseshoes, crocheting, and sewing for her children. Her daughters shared that the youngest four girls all had matching outfits along with their dolls when they took their vacation trips to North Dakota. Madoline enjoyed cooking and baking also. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Barb), Union and Jay (Cindy), Shelton; daughters, Meredith (Jack) Smith, Conway, AR, Sadie (Mel) Oishi, Washougal, WA, Nancy (Jim) Brewer, Shelton, Karen (Dan) Ragan, Shelton, Terri Roberts (Buck Phillips), Shelton Sherri Ramsfield, Olympia, Diane (Louie) Zoren, Shelton, and Betty Slater of Shelton; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by husband Ole and sons, Joe and Gary. Donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 192 Nickerson St. Ste 100, Seattle, WA 98109-9760.
