Rachel Pauline Endicott

Endicott_Rachel_p.jpgRachel Pauline Endicott, a lifelong resident of Mason County died peacefully Sunday, February 24, at St. Peter’s hospital in Olympia from complications due to cancer. She was 78. Rachel was born November 30, 1934, in Shelton to Grover (“Pop”) and Lucille Gray. She is survived by her husband, Richard Endicott of Shelton and four children, Randy Endicott of Hoodsport, Richard Endicott of Union, Rhonda Molinero of Potsdam, New York, and Robert Endicott of Hoodsport; sister, Faith (John) Spencer, of Shelton and brother, Frank (Barbara) Gray, of Hoodsport. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Rachel attended Shelton High School where she was valedictorian of the 1953 graduating class. She was an accomplished pianist and prolific piano instructor, teaching many students in Mason County over 5 decades and serving as pianist for many local church congregations. She also worked many years as an aide in the Shelton High School English department. Rachel’s genuine faith, consistent example and sincere kindness made her a beloved friend and mentor to many of all ages. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Oliver Gray.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Cota Street in Shelton at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Arrangements are under the direction of McComb Funeral Home.
