John R. Cole

John R. Cole, 89, a resident of Mason Lake, died February 22, 2013 at Alpine Way Care Center in Shelton.cole_johnR.jpg
John was born August 14, 1923 to Olive Eldridge-Cole and Frank Cole in Glasgow, Montana. He spent his childhood hunting and riding horses on the family homestead ranch. With his siblings, he attended a one room schoolhouse. He served in the Navy during World War II and subsequently earned an accounting degree from Montana State University. After moving to Seattle, John began a 30 year career as an accountant with Boeing. He married Joan Mary Tyler in 1955, the mother of his four children. Joan passed away in 1979.
John later married Mary Anne Gilbert and they moved to Mason Lake after retirement. They were members of the Mason-Benson community center, the Elks RV Club, the Lake Limerick Golf Club and St. Edward’s Parish in Shelton. His hobbies included hunting, golfing, fishing and camping.
His generosity and warm spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Cole and Grace Hay.
He is survived by his wife Mary Anne Cole; brother, Oliver (Raile) Cole; sister, Claire (Jim) Goedeke and her family; children, Robert (Anita) Cole, Louise Cole, Susan Buhr, and Jim (Ju-Yuan) Cole; stepchildren, Frank (Cherm) Gilbert, Donna (Max) Reese, Pamela (Bob) Jameson, Teresa Gilbert and Lisa (Donald) Merz.
He is also survived by grandchildren Parish (Laura) John, Elizabeth, Reba, Anthony, Melissa, Max, Karl and Emma and 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and his good friend John Newell.
The family sincerely thanks the nurses, caregivers and staff at Alpine Way for their wonderful care.
Services will be held at 10:30 Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Edward’s Parish, 601 West C. St. Shelton, WA.

Adalee Alaine Amador

AmadorAAlaineOn Sunday, February 17, 2013, Adalee Alaine Amador, the much loved daughter of Corey Amador and Cassi DeHart went to Heaven. Adalee was nineteen days old. She was born on January 29, 2013 in Tacoma, WA. She is survived by her parents, Corey and Cassi, Shelton; brother, Taylor Amador, Shelton; sister, Amiyah Amador, Shelton; grandparents, Missy Schmidt, Colorada; Terry (Vickie) Amador, Colorado and Esther Sage, Shelton; great grandmother, Sandy Fichter; aunts, Sage Beeson and Kayla DeHart and uncles, Aaron Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson. She is preceded in death by great grandfather, Ed Fichter. A celebration of her life will be held at the family home on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2:00. McComb Funeral Home was honored to serve this family.

Robert Howard Haugan

Robert Howard Haugan, 72, died at his home of 34 years in Lilliwaup, WA on Thursday, February 7, 2013. He was born on June 14, 1940 in Snohomish, WA to Roy Howard and Helen haugan.jpg(Seagar) Haugan.  Robert married Nora (Walsh) Haugan on May 30, 1993 in Shelton, WA.  He had previously been married to Ann Roche, divorced in 1992 and Dorothy Fulmer, divorced in 1990.  Robert was a self-employed auto mechanic in Hoodsport, WA and had previously been employed by various auto dealerships from Tacoma to Olympia prior to moving to Lilliwaup in 1978.  He loved driving the Forest Service roads exploring Mason County and he collected pigs.  He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Haugan; mother, Helen Haugan; and brother, Jim Brandt.  Robert is survived by his wife, Nora Haugan of Lilliwaup, WA; sister, Elaine Kneeble of Sumner, WA; daughters, Tracy Hancock, Lisa Parker and Cristine Haugan all of Puyallup, WA; stepson, Robert Crump of Hoodsport, WA; stepdaughter Kathleen Crump of Elma, WA; grandson, Brian Hancock of Olympia, WA; granddaughters, Julie Linterman, Gina Valiani both of Puyallup, WA, Amanda Brown of Federal Way, WA and Samantha Brown of Spanaway, WA; step grandson, Gary Cooper of Elma, WA; step granddaughter, Kelsi Cooper of Elma, WA; great grandsons, Joey Robison and Brody Linterman both of Puyallup, WA.  A memorial service was held at his bedside by his family and closest friends.  Memorial donations can be sent to St. Germain’s Episcopal Church in Hoodsport, WA.
