Merline M. Lewis

Lewismeri.jpgMerline Mae Lewis, 68, of Kamilche, WA passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. She was born on September 25, 1943 to Wallace and Ida (Van Esson) Dorey in Yakima, WA. In April of 1966, she married David “Toby” Lewis in Mason County. Merline was a member of the Jehovah Witness’ Kingdom Hall. She did a lot of fishing with her husband in many different places and enjoyed traveling with the senior group (Mexico and Alaska). Her hobbies included beading and gardening. Her sons shared that she was a huge fan of the QVC channel and was also well known for her cooking, especially her quiche. In 1986, she was well known in the Shelton area for “Lewis’ Lunches”, a company she owned and operated serving and delivering box style lunches. She retired in 1994 but was always an entrepreneur. Everyone knew her as “grandma” and her grandbabies were everything to her. She was big-hearted, caring and always there to lend a hand to anyone.
She is survived by her husband, David “Toby” Lewis, Kamilche; sons, Bear Lewis, Kamilche and David Lewis (Jennifer), Tumwater; grandchildren, Payton and David Lewis, Brendan Bellon, and Kandan Adams-Lewis.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Larrinea Lee Lewis.
Services will be held at the Squaxin Island Gymnasium on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.

 

Jaime Diane Northness

NorthnessJaime.jpgJaime died June 1, 2012 at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington of sepsis.  She was 35 years old.  Jaime was born May 19, 1977 to Glenda (Young) and Ken Kempton, in Olympia, Washington.  She attended Shelton High School and the New Market Skills Center where she studied computer programming.  Jaime lived in Eastern Washington and also in Arizona where she worked in the hotel industry, before returning home to live in Shelton.  She worked in the medical billing field for several years and also as a dispatcher.  Jaime enjoyed reading, music, watching movies and theater and especially spending time with her children. 
She is survived by her husband, Eric Northness; daughter, Jerica Northness; sons, Levi and Jason Northness; her father, Ken Kempton; grandmother, Milli Eddy; sister, Jennifer Madara (John); brother, Jeremy Kempton (Heather); Uncle, Dan Kempton (Patti), all of Shelton; Aunts Sharon Taylor of Olympia and Carol Criss of Aurora, Colorado; two cousins, two nephews and a niece, all of Shelton. 
She was preceded in death by her mother, Glenda Kempton; grandparents Myron Eddy and Hazel Young; and great-grandmother Judy Johnston.

Virginia Keith

KeithVirginia.jpgVirginia Minnie Keith, 84, died of natural causes on Friday, June 1, 2012, in the comfort of her eldest daughter’s home surrounded by her family. Virginia was born on February 1, 1928 to Samuel N and Gladys (Krogness) Herrick in Ephrata, WA.
In July of 1964, she married Harold Keith in Ketchikan, AK where she raised her seven children. Virginia and her husband also owned and operated A&A Auto Wrecking. Virginia attended the Matlock Community Church.
Her hobbies included sewing, quilting (making a quilt for everyone of her grandchildren and great grandchildren), gardening, and crafting. She enjoyed flowers, birds and butterflies. Her family will remember her with loving memories. She was a special person who always enjoyed her family and friends and looked for the good in everyone. She was the strength of her family, was genuinely loved and will be forever missed.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy LeGarde, Shelton, Laura Widmyer, Shelton, Debbie Powers, Colorado and Jenny Wilks, Edna Bay, AK; sons, Bob Widmyer, Ketchikan, AK, Jimmy and Kenny Widmyer, both of Edna Bay, AK; stepsons, Kenny, Leroy, and Ted Keith; brothers, Robert and Don Herrick, both of Shelton and sister Francis Pritchard, Chehalis, WA; 29 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by both her husband Harold Keith and sister Maxine English. Memorial donations can be made to Adopt-a-Pet, 940 E. Jenson Rd. Shelton, WA.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Shelton Memorial Park.
A reception will follow at the Matlock Grange. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.
