Gregory M. James

Jamesgregory.jpgGregory Michael James passed away at Mason General Hospital on Sunday, April 22, 2012. He was 57 years old. Gregory was born on June 12, 1954 to Donald R. and Marcella (Sullivan) James in Hennepin, MN. He attended Loveland Senior High School in Loveland, CO and obtained his GED from Big Bend Community College in 1976.  
Gregory was a disabled veteran who had served in Special Forces of the US Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was also a licensed practical nurse earning the Army Achievement Medal in the MASH, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and an Expert Marksmanship Award. Mr. James was a member of the Officer’s Club of the US Army and was very political.
He enjoyed being out of doors, gardening, boating, skydiving, guns and watching television. He enjoyed talking to people, was a good friend to many and was an overall good man. He loved his beloved pets, dog “Rosita” and “Christmas” the cat.
Survivors include his special friends Misty Dunbar and   Sue Challstrom; special children, Ruby and Karrisa Dunbar, both of Shelton; brother, Richard J. Gregory, Loveland, CO and sister, Diane Davis of MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Timothy and beloved dog “Brandy”.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Republican Party. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.

 

Douglas W. Coleman

Colemandoug.jpgDouglas Wayne Coleman, 75, of Grapeview, WA passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. Douglas was born on February 5, 1937 to James A. and Jenny (Rodgers) Coleman in Elma, WA. He graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1955. In June of 1985 he married Erma Sofil in Shelton, WA.
Doug was a mechanic for Simpson at Camp Govey before becoming a master mechanic for the Mason County Road Crew, retiring in 2002. Mr. Coleman was a member of Local Union 378 International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He was his own member of the “Dog Bone Club”, an insignia he used on the many pieces of his woodworking projects. He was gifted in the making of furniture, curio cabinets, desks, and special boxes he made for friends and family. His hobbies included fishing, riding mopeds, hunting, garage saling and second hand stores. He loved his sweets and had never met a donut he didn’t like. His family shared that he was a very helpful, giving man which was quick witted, had a wonderful sense of humor, very much a gentleman and adored his two little dogs, “Sugar Rose” and “Cricket Rose”.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Morgan (Roger), Allyn, Geanne Clark (Robert), Grapeview, Cammy Mastakoski (Chad), Hibbings, MN and Laurie Coleman, Shelton; sons, David Coleman (Laurie), Shelton, Ronnie Coleman (Dottie Goldsby), Shelton, Brian Coleman (Denise), Shelton, Jim Blaich and Raymond Blaich, both of Shelton, David Blaich, CA; brother, Gerald “Jeep” Coleman (Mary), Renton; sister, Darlene Warner (Gordon), Auburn and sister in law, Ethel Rich, Wenatchee; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, wife Erma, brother Byron Coleman and nephew Steven.
Services will be held at Shelton Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Donations can be made to Adopt-a-Pet, 940 E. Jensen Rd. Shelton, WA 98584. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.

 

Jeffery J. Ruggles

rugglesj.jpgJeffery Justin Ruggles, of Shelton, WA died at Providence St. Peter Hospital, Olympia on Monday, April 9, 2012. He was 38 years old. Jeff was born on September 2, 1973 to Justin R. Ruggles and Susie (de Senan) Nobmann in Bellevue, WA.  He graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1991 and also attended the Motorcycle Mechanics School in Phoenix, AZ.
In December of 1994 he married Cassandra Williams in Olympia. Jeff had always worked in the paving industry working for Ace, Woodworth and Looker Paving companies. Jim Oakes and Jeff started Jimini Paving of Shelton and Jeff retired in 2009.
Jeff’s hobbies included golfing, dirt bike riding, camping, fishing, and boating. He was very artistic, mechanical and enjoyed working with his hands. He loved spending time with his wife and daughter. Many memories were shared and the family also recollected his love of music, his singing and whistling. 
He is survived by his wife Cassandra and daughter Kaylee, both of Shelton; sisters, Jessica Benjamin (Jerel), Texas and Courtenay Hill (BG) of Oregon; mother, Susie Nobmann (Paul), Sonoma, CA and Ralph Ruggles of Shelton, WA; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jeff was extremely fond of his wife’s extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his son, Kody.
Donations can be made to the Shelton Valley Christian School, 201 W. Shelton Valley Rd. Shelton, WA 98584.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hope Chapel, 421 W. “E” St. Shelton on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2:00. McComb Funeral Home was honored to serve this family.
