Mary E. Lawrence

Lawrence-Mary-E.jpgMary Esther Lawrence, 94, (formerly of Olympia), passed away peacefully at her residence in Shelton, WA on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Mary was born on March 10, 1918 to Elmer and Marie (Schratke) Hofstetter in Baltimore, MD. Being born and raised in Baltimore, Mary attended high school, graduating in 1936 and obtained secretarial skills at a vocational school.
She met John Franklin Lawrence at a dance and was married in December of 1949 while he was enlisted in the Army.
Mrs. Lawrence worked for a period of time for an insurance company in Baltimore before becoming a full time wife, mother and homemaker. Her husband’s career took them to many areas including California where they resided until relocating to Washington during the mid 1970’s.
Mary attended the First Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, WA during their residency there. Her hobbies were gardening and needlepoint. Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed board games, especially Scrabble.
She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Lawrence, Olympia; son, Wayne (Claudia) Lawrence, Washougal, WA; grandchildren, April Stoffer, Paul Stoffer and Andrew Lawrence; great grandchildren, Aleena Martin and Wheelin Larm; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by husband in 2006.
At Mrs. Lawrence’s request, no services will be held. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.


Patricia May Carroll (Kinnaman)

Patricia May Carroll (Kinnaman) was born in Carlisle, Washington on May 1, 1940 (She never liked to reveal her age) and left this earth on June 28, 2012.  She went to school in Moclips, Washington and graduated from high school in 1958.  She went to college and became a civil engineer. She retired from the City of Seattle in 2004. 
She is survived by her sons Thomas H Erickson and Robert R Erickson, her daughter Debra L Kinnaman, her grandson Gerald S Kinnaman, and her sisters Elisabeth Love and Marilyn Crowell.  She is also survived by a very large spiritual family.
