Carrel K. Lacy

LacyCarrel.gifCarrel Katherine Lacy, 87, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her home in Shelton, WA. surrounded by her family. Carrel was born on September 12, 1924 to Frank and Stella ( Van Hoose) Williams in Jackson County, Kentucky. In October of 1947 she married Robert J. Lacy in Fairburn, OH.
Mrs. Lacy owned and operated a restaurant and 24 unit motel in Port Hueneme, CA before moving to Shelton in 1974 to become a fulltime homemaker. Carrel was a member of the 40 et 8 Le Femmes, Shelton Eagles and the Mason County Senior Center. Her hobbies included cooking and entertaining, gardening, canning, sewing, and crocheting. She especially enjoyed the 4th of July holiday, going on drives and get-aways. She took care of her family and was a giver to society.
She is survived by her sons, Jim Lacy (Kelly Stewart), Shelton and Charles Lacy (Cyndi), Shelton; daughter, Winnie Martin, Springfield, OH; sister, Geneva Rice, Holland, MI; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bob, daughter Sandy Heilman, two brothers and eight sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be a potluck held at the Shelton Eagles Club on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1:00pm. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.



 

 

Charmaine Lucille Wilson

CharmainWilsonCharmaine.jpge Lucille Wilson, 75, died Thursday, March 22, at Shelton Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family and the many kind and caring employees of that facility.
Charmaine was born on April 21, 1936 in Upland, Indiana to Ralph and Anna Goodwin.  Following school she served in the Air Force and later moved to the Shelton area where she spent most of her adult life.  She was a resident of Lake Limerick for the past 40 years.
Charmaine was an “Avon Lady” for many years and enjoyed serving all of her many customers in the area.  She was an active member of the Lake Limerick Country Club and had many close friends in the community who she considered family.
Her interests included crocheting, especially making items for children through the Mason County Food Bank, jigsaw puzzles, collecting, garage sales and RVing.  She loved all animals, especially her dogs, and helping other people however she could.
Charmaine is survived by her son Paul Wilson, daughter Carmel Morehouse, grandchildren Ryan Taylor, David Wilson and Tara Vander Pas and great grandchildren Ian Anderson and Ava Taylor.
The family will gather privately to remember and celebrate Charmaine’s life.

Jace S. Olsen

olsenjace.jpgJace Sheldon Olsen, 2, of Shelton, WA died on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Lake Limerick. Jace was born on June 5, 2009 to Sheldon and Julie (Galler) Olsen in Salem, OR. Jace Sheldon Olsen was a handsome, adorable little boy. He was adopted and was an answer to Sheldon and Julie’s prayers. He was so loved, and his parents adored him. He loved playing trains, monster trucks, and Angry Birds. His favorite games were playing hide and seek and being tickled. He loved airplanes, helicopters, and dump trucks. He learned to crawl at nine months old and walk at thirteen months old. He was learning to count to five and knew how to sing his ABC’s. His favorite song to sing was “The Itsy Bitsy Spider.” He gave the best hugs and kisses and brought happiness to all the people around him.
Survivors include, mother, Julie Olsen, Shelton; grandparents, Gayle and Steven Galler, Las Vegas, NV and Paul and Carol Sylvester, Vernal, UT and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Steen Olsen.
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 916 N. 12th St, Shelton, WA beginning with a visitation from 9 until 11, followed by the funeral on Saturday, March 24, 2012. A second service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1078 S. McClelland, Salt Lake City, UT on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 12 noon. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.

Sheldon Olsen and his son Jace will be remembered at a memorial Saturday March 24, 2012 at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; viewing of Jace Olsen, 9:00am-11:00am and memorial and funeral services for Jace and his father, Sheldon, 11:00am-12noon. An informational blog has been set up by friends of Sheldon and Julie with a link to a Paypal account.  The blog states: “In lieu of flowers and gifts, please give what you can to help Julie with funeral costs and to help aid her through this difficult time.
