Elizabeth Christine Obi

Obi_Elizabeth_Christine.jpgElizabeth Christine Obi, 42, died at her home in Kamilche, WA on Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was born on April 21, 1971 to Dave J. and Deborah D. (Napoleon) Obi in Aberdeen, WA. Elizabeth attended school in Taholah before moving for a time to Crescent City. In 1996, she moved to Kamilche where she became a member of the Squaxin Island Tribe. Elizabeth worked as a caregiver, commercially digging clams and fishing and most recently was employed in the hotel industry at Little Creek Casino and Resort. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and pets. Elizabeth is survived by her parents, Dave Obi, Taholah and Deborah Obi, Kamilche; son, Martin Sequak Jr., Kamilche; daughters, Alicia Obi, Kamilche and Che-Vonne Obi, Michigan; brother, Dion Obi; nephew, Jerome and four grandchildren, Melanie, Jeremiah, Olivia and Thailer. She is preceded in death by her Aunties, Connie and Rebecca Napoleon and Uncle Melvin Napoleon. Donations can be made to Adopt-A-Pet, 940 E. Jenson Rd, Shelton, WA 98584. Services will be held at the Squaxin Island Gymnasium on Friday, May 10, 2013, beginning with a viewing from noon to 1. Burial will follow at the Squaxin Island Cemetery.


Donald “Don” Ray Yorke

Yorke_Donald.jpgDonald “Don” Ray Yorke, 83, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Mason General Hospital. He was born on December 16, 1929 in Clearwater, NE to Roy and Alice (Briggs) Yorke. Don attended high school in the Rainier Beach area of Seattle. He married Laura Ashbaugh in Shelton, WA in September of 1977. Don had previously been married to Colleen O’Dell whom he divorced. He worked as a machinist and supervisor for Certified Aerospace Company in Shelton, starting in 1959 and working until his retirement 32 years later. Don was a past member of the Nimrod Club in Shelton. He enjoyed four wheeling, boating, hunting, camping, taking a boat trip to Alaska, working on cars, tinkering, traveling to Arizona for the winter with his wife (snowbirds), panning for gold in Arizona and rock hounding. Donald is survived by his wife, Laura Yorke of Shelton; four sons, Doug Yorke (Fran) of San Jose, CA, Russ Yorke of Phoenix, AZ, Thom Yorke, (Janna) of Shelton and Bob Yorke (Paulette) of Lacey, WA; three step-sons, Glenn Lockwood (Brenda) of Madison, WI, Scott Lockwood(Robyn) of Shelton and Sam Lockwood (Julie) of Kalama, WA; brother, Lawrence Yorke of Auburn, WA; two sisters, Marge Munson of Bonney Lake, WA and Barb Benson of Puyallup, WA; 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Alice Yorke and step-daughter, Janet Walker. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family was served by McComb Funeral Home.


Catherine Lorraine Bracy

Bracy_Catherine_Lorraine.jpgCatherine Lorraine Bracy passed away on May 3, 2013 at Capital Medical Center.  She was born to Henry Wellman and Margaret Wellman (Trosper) in Olympia, Washington on April 13, 1930.  She married T. Ray Bracy of Batesville, Arkansas on July 23, 1953.  They made their home and raised 3 children in Shelton Washington.  Catherine retired from Sears & Roebuck in Shelton, Washington.

Catherine is survived by T Ray Bracy of Olympia, Washington.  Their 3 Children: sons Dale (Penny) Bracy of Olympia, Washington; Randy Bracy of Lacey, Washington and Daughter Terrie (Dave) Ward of Olympia, Washington.  Their 5 Grandchildren:  William (Melissa) Harger of Fort Worth, Texas; Carrie Bracy of Portland, Oregon; Dustin (Felicia) Harger of Houston, Texas; Andrea Bracy of Tumwater, Washington and Brittany (Sean) Mullins of Olympia, Washington and 4 Great Grandchildren.

Graveside service will be provided by McComb Funeral Home held at Shelton Memorial Park on May 8, 2013.
