According to Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, surveys indicate the clam population on the beach at Dosewallips State Park can support a season of the same length as last year.

The earlier opening date provides a more continuous recreational clamming opportunity in the Hood Canal area, particularly with this year’s closure of nearby Point Whitney Tidelands.

Oyster season at Dosewallips State Park remains open year-round.

The season will open March 1, 2014.

Dosewallips State Park is located in Jefferson County on Hood Canal.
