Work to re-roof Olympic National Park Visitor Center and an adjacent building is scheduled to begin next Monday. The visitor center will remain open throughout the work period, but outside areas may be blocked off to to keep visitors safe.
The work that will be done includes removal and replacement of the two buildings’ existing 30-year-old cedar shake roofs. Work, which will occur weekdays (7AM-9AM) is expected to be complete by early May, if the weather cooperates. According to KONP NEWSRADIO KONP NEWSRADIO AM 1450, Dark Horse Enterprises, LLC, a veteran-owned small business based in Bremerton, is the contractor for the 151-thousand-600 dollar project and has subcontracted with Triple A Roofing, based in Port Angeles.
