Free Day at State Parks Saturday
The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission reminds visitors that Saturday, Sept. 28, is a State Parks free day in recognition of National Public Lands Day. The Discover Pass is not required of visitors exploring their state parks on “free days.” To help celebrate this special day, State Parks have partnered with SUBWAY®
ONF Gate Closures Begin on October 1
Seven gates within Olympic National Forest will be closed and locked for the winter beginning on October 1, 2013. The closures will last through April 30, 2014, and will occur on the 2451 road in the North Fork Skokomish watershed, the 2354, 2353, and 2361 roads in the South Fork Skokomish
Fall Razor Clam Season: Early Open At Twin Harbors
Washington’s razor clam season will get off to an early start this year with an evening dig at Twin Harbors beach set for Sept. 19-23. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) approved the dig after marine toxin tests confirmed the clams on those two beaches are safe to eat.
