Last month, the Shelton School District presented Undersheriff Jim Barrett with a plaque, thanking him for his dedicated service. Undersheriff Barrett served on the Board of Directors for the Shelton School District from January 2010 through November 2013.
The position of Undersheriff is the highest non-elected official within the Sheriff’s Office, is appointed by the Sheriff and is the second in command. This position has the greatest responsibility within the Sheriff’s Office, second only to the Sheriff. Undersheriff Barrett oversees the day-to-day operation of the entire agency, assisted by the four Chief Deputies.
During his tenure on the Board of Directors, Undersheriff Barrett’s commitment to provide the best law enforcement to the citizens of Mason County was equal to his dedication to provide the best education for all students within the district.
Sheriff Casey Salisbury stated that he is very proud of Undersheriff Barrett and noted that all of the citizens of Mason County are very fortunate to have a man like Undersheriff Barrett serve this county.
