(NEW YORK) -- Bad news for proponents of e-cigarettes. Lawmakers in New York City voted Thursday to expand the city's indoor smoking ban to include the devices. The bill bans individuals from using e-cigarettes in bars, restaurants and workplaces. Many scientists say e-cigarettes are safe because they only heat up a nicotine solution and emit water vapor, but anti-smoking activists say the jury is still out on whether the devices are truly safe.
