The Port of Shelton has no more space to rent. Good news for the Port, bad news for local organizations. The Port issued notice to four service organizations to move out of space they have been utilizing for the past 10 years. This building at Sanderson Field, known as the “pump house”, meets the requirements of a new, paying tenant.
Two local Kiwanis (Kristmas Town and Shelton) Chapters along with the Forest Festival and Shelton Chamber of Commerce were told in early April of the Port's intention to lease the building to a company in need of fenced space.
Mark Zeigler, current president of the Kristmas Town Kiwanis said, "The Kristmas Town Kiwanis were given notice of the need to move in April. The group requested the Port allow them to stay in the building until the local Forest Festival Event was completed. The Kiwanis are very appreciative of the Port's generosity in allowing the use of a port building for the past 10 years."
Kristmas Town Kiwanis have found space to store their equipment, but as of now, the other three groups are looking for space to lease. If anyone has space available for rent contact one of these local organizations:
