(HOUMA, La.) -- A woman from Houma, La., is lucky to be alive after she was struck by lightning inside a grocery store Monday afternoon. According to Houma Today, the unidentified woman was at the checkout line at the Rouses Supermarket around 2 p.m. when she was struck in a freak occurrence.
It's believed the bolt struck the outside of the building then zapped the woman through the store's electrical system.
Even National Weather Service Meteorologist Gavin Phillips remarked of the occurrence, "I've never heard of anything like that."
The victim is believed to be OK. Only a blackened tile remains as evidence of the strike inside the establishment.
