At Least 17 Dead as Tornadoes Rip Through Central, Southern US

At least 16 people have died in Arkansas -- 10 in Faulkner County, five in Pulaski County and one in White County, according to the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management. Deputy PIO Brandon Morris said one trail of storm destruction stretches 30 miles.

Dramatic Video Shows Ark. Family Being Pulled from Tornado Wreckage

The video, shot by resident Tammy Moffitt, shows storm devastation near Center Hill, about 50 miles northeast of Little Rock. The relatives were hiding in a closet when the storm bore down.

Pentagon Releases Mixed Report on Military Suicides

The Department of Defense said that in 2012, there were 319 deaths by suicide among active component service members.

Georgia-Pacific Plant Explosion Injures Eight

The explosion occurred at about 6:18 p.m. local time and was put out about two hours later, the Corrigan Police Department told ABC News. Of the eight injured, at least three were taken to nearby hospitals by helicopter. Police did not immediately release information regarding whether anyone was missing or what caused the explosion.
