First Woman Charged Under Controversial Law

Mallory Loyola, 26, was arrested this week after both she and her newborn infant tested positive for methamphetamine, according to ABC News affiliate WATE-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee. Loyola is the first person in the state to be prosecuted for the offense.

Police Investigating Motive Behind Pasadena Shooting

Police say that there is "some evidence to suggest" that the incident involved a landlord-tenant relationship. The suspect, a 35-year-old man, allegedly barricaded himself in a Pasadena, California home before being convinced to surrender by a police dispatcher.
