Dozens of Vehicles in Massive Pileup on Pennsylvania Turnpike

Video of the crash site, taken by helicopter, near the Route 1 exit for Bensalem, Pa., shows a scene of carnage with jack-knifed tractor trailers, cars wedged under trucks, and rescue workers attempting to pry at least one injured victim from a white sedan.

Judge Strikes Ban on Same-Sex Marriage in Virginia

"Government interests in perpetuating traditions, shielding state matters from federal interference, and favoring one model of parenting over others must yield to this country’s cherished protections that ensure the exercise of the private choices of the individual citizen regarding love and family," wrote Judge Arenda L. Wright Allen of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Northeast's Snow Reprieve Is Still Days Away

Nearly two dozen deaths were blamed on Thursday's storm, which began in the South and made its way up to the Northeast. The victims include a pregnant New York City woman who was struck by a snow plow and killed. Her baby was delivered by cesarean section.

Delaware Doctor Convicted of Waterboarding Own Child

Pediatrician Melvin Morse, a best-selling author and frequent TV guest, was convicted on six of eight charges including third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and first-degree reckless endangerment, a felony.

Authorities Arrest Tenn. Man Suspected of Placing Bomb that Killed Elderly Couple

Richard Parker, the couple's 49-year-old son-in-law, faces multiple counts of premeditated first-degree murder and is being held on $1 million bond.
