(WASHINGTON) -- President Obama and Hillary Clinton have a lunch date. The former secretary of state will have lunch with the president in a private dining room at the White House on Monday, according to Obama’s public schedule. The White House did not specify why, or what the two would be talking about.
Since departing her job at the State Department in February, Clinton has been leading a more or less public life, delivering paid speeches around the country. Speculation has mounted that Clinton will run for president in 2016, and she remains the most talked-about possible White House contender in the Democratic Party. A group of political allies and former associates, Ready for Hillary, is operating as a super PAC to promote her as-of-yet-nonexistent candidacy.
Afterward, Obama will host the San Francisco Giants at the White House, congratulating them on their World Series victory.
