The younger Biden is up for reelection to a third term next year. Beau Biden assumed office in 2007 and his father has made a habit of campaigning for him over the years.

Tickets to Saturday’s gathering cost $1,200 each.

However, like many fundraisers the Saturday event is closed to the press and there has been little word about the attorney general’s recent health issues.

In late August Beau Biden, who suffered a mild stroke in 2010, underwent a hospital procedure after feeling weak and disoriented on vacation. He has made no public appearances since and his office has been mum on specifics.

Also on Saturday, Dr. Jill Biden will attend the homecoming for the Delaware National Guard’s 153rd Military Police Company. The troops are returning from Afghanistan where their mission included training local counterparts in security and building projects.
