Thurston County - The 2014-2015 Preliminary Docket of Development Code Amendments is now available to the public for review and written comment. Comments on the preliminary docket must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21.
The Official Docket of Development Code Amendments is a list of proposals for making changes to Thurston County’s development regulations. The development code docket can include proposals on a wide variety of topics, including modifying residential or commercial zoning requirements, boundary line adjustments, rural special use permit standards, building setbacks, and many more. The development code docket does not include Comprehensive Plan amendments or amendments to county subarea land use plans. The Board of County Commissioners chooses the topics from the Preliminary Docket of Development Code Amendments, which is maintained year-round, and then places them on an Official Docket of Development Code Amendments, which is forwarded to the Thurston County Planning Commission for proposal development and review.
The purpose of the public review period for the Preliminary Docket of Development Code Amendments is to receive written comments on which proposals should be considered. After the public review period, the Thurston County Board of County Commissioners will create an official docket and proposals will be forwarded to the Thurston County Planning Commission for review. The Planning Commission and the Board of County Commissioners will hold public hearings on the merits of the items approved for the official docket prior to adoption of any final regulations.
Copies of the preliminary docket are available through the Permit Assistance Center, or on our website at www.thurstonplanning.org under the “News and Links” section.
