The City of Shelton will hold a third and final Open House to discuss potential alternative zoning regulation changes and boundary amendments being considered for the Downtown (DT) Zoning District, affecting the Shelton Comprehensive Plan. Property owners, residents, business owners and other interested parties are invited to attend and provide feedback. The Open House will be held on Wednesday, February 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Shelton Civic Center, located at 525 West Cota Street.
This is a follow-up session of the preceding two Open Houses is which the stated vision for the DT Zoning District and the current DT Zoning District area regulations were reviewed, and potential alternatives to the DT Zoning District area and regulations that may better align the stated vision with the built environment and market realities were discussed. The DT Zoning District includes the “core” downtown area south of Franklin Street and north of Cota Street between First and Seventh Streets, and extends south of Cota Street between Third and First Street. The public is invited to attend this open house to learn more, ask questions, or make suggestions.
