Olympia, WA – The Olympic Peninsula Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) will meet on May 28, 2014, from 9:00 am until approximately 5:00 pm at the USDA Service Center, Olympic National Forest, 1835 Black Lake Blvd SW, Olympia, WA.
The RAC operates in compliance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act and is authorized under the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act, which was reauthorized for one year as part of HR 527 Helium Stewardship Act in October 2013. Title II of the Secure Rural Schools Act provides funding for: fish and wildlife habitat; infrastructure maintenance; ecosystem management; and land health and water quality improvements, on Federal land and on non-Federal land where projects would benefit the resources on Federal land.
The purpose of this meeting is to review the seventeen 2014 Title II project proposals and for the RAC to provide the Designated Federal Official a list of projects recommended for funding. More information can be found on the Olympic National Forest website at http://www.fs.usda.gov/olympic under the Quick Link – Secure Rural Schools.
A summary of the meeting will be posted within 21 days of the meeting on www.fs.usda.gov/goto/olympic/Advisory.
