Road Updates Week August 10 - 17

The following construction and maintenance activities are scheduled for Mason County.



SR 3, from US 101 to East of Front street in Shelton 
Scott Ireland, 360-538-8502
TIME/DAYS: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Aug. 13-15, and 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each Monday through Thursday through September
DESCRIPTION: This project improves SR 3 in Mason County through the City of Shelton by constructing sidewalks and ADA ramps, repaving portions of the highway within the project vicinity, installing pavement markings, and completing minor electrical improvements to the signals.
LOCATION: Both directions, SR 3, from US 101 to east of Front Street, mileposts 0 to 3.65.
EXPECT: Daytime work will involve constructing sidewalks and ADA ramps at intersections.  Night work will be used for pavement-preparation activities. Temporary lane closures with one-way, alternating traffic, and sidewalk/shoulder closures.

US 101, Purdy Canyon Vic. Slide Stabilized Slope

TIME/DAYS: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 13-16
DESCRIPTION: In this project, crews will reinforce an unstable hillside adjacent to US 101 in Purdy Canyon. 
LOCATION: Both directions, US 101, Purdy Canyon, mileposts 339 to 341
EXPECT: Shoulder closures while crews install roadway signs in preparation for construction.

SR 106, Twanoh Falls

TIME/DAYS: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Aug. 12-16
DESCRIPTION: In this project, crews will install a dewatering system to enhance water treatment and install a culvert. 
LOCATION: Both directions, SR 106, Twanoh Falls, mileposts 13.43 to 13.58.
EXPECT: One-way, alternating traffic controlled with flaggers.


SR 3, Mason Lake Rd to Pickering

TIME/DAYS: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Monday through Friday through Aug. 23
DESCRIPTION: A local utility company will install an aerial fiber optics line on existing poles.
LOCATION: Southbound SR 3 between mileposts 7.14 to 12.78
EXPECT: Alternating one-way traffic control using flaggers. Motorists can expect occasional delays in both directions.

US 101, Potlatch

TIME/DAYS: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday through Thursday through Aug. 29
DESCRIPTION: A local utility company working for the Skokomish Tribe will install a sewer line along US 101.
LOCATION: Northbound US 101 from milepost 334.4 to 335.
EXPECT: Northbound right shoulder closures with occasional one-way, alternating traffic control for equipment and material deliveries.

US 101, Brockdale Rd.

TIME/DAYS: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 12-16.
DESCRIPTION: Local PUD will prepare utility poles, trench conduit, and hang an aerial fiber optic line along existing poles.
LOCATION: Northbound US 101 from mileposts 340.4 to 341.4.
EXPECT: Northbound right shoulder closure and alternating one-way traffic control.
