Timberland Reads Together

Timberland Regional Library presents the 9th annual Timberland Reads Together, a community wide effort to get people together to read and discuss one great book through discussion, film, live music and theater. This year’s book is “Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher: The Epic Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis” by Pulitzer Prize winning author Timothy Egan.

The book chronicles the life of Edward Curtis, an early 20th century photographer from Seattle who gave up being the portrait photographer of the rich and famous to capture in amazing photographic detail the lives and vanishing customs of Native American tribes. Author Timothy Egan will kick things off by speaking on Tuesday, October 1 at 7pm at the Washington Center in Olympia. More than 70 events will follow throughout October, all of which are free and open to the public. More information is at www.TRL.org.
