Nov. 12 All Veterans Career Fair at Safeco Field

DAV and RecruitMilitary will produce an All Veterans Career Fair at Safeco Field on Thursday, November 12, 2015. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

RecruitMilitary expects 40 employers to reserve exhibitor booths. Among those already signed up are DAV; Apple, Inc.; Lockheed Martin; Lowe’s Companies, Inc.; Oracle Corporation; Quest Diagnostics; U.S. Customs and Border Protection; New York Life; AECOM; The Boeing Company; Bonneville Power Administration; Business Interiors Northwest, Inc.; EliteMed Recruiting; Port of Seattle; Amplifon (USA), Inc.; West Coast Training; Academy of Art University; AFLAC; Allen Institute; City of Seattle – City Light Dept.; DeVry University; Edward Jones; Everett Police Department; First Command Financial Planning; Grand Canyon University; Heavy Construction Academy; Heavy Equipment College of California; PLS Logistics Services; The Art Institutes; The Home Depot; USDA Forest Service; Vinnell Arabia; and Molina Healthcare.

Adoption of Agenda

         Items appearing on the agenda after “Item 9. Public Hearings”, may be acted upon before 9:30 a.m.

Approval of Minutes – Approval of the October 26, 2015 briefing minutes. 

Approval of Action Agenda: All items listed under the “Action Agenda” may be enacted by one motion unless a Commissioner or citizen requests an item be removed from the Action Agenda and considered as a separate item.

8.1   Approval to reschedule the December 22, 2015 regular Commission meeting to 9:00 a.m. rather than 6:00 p.m.

8.2   Approval to set a public hearing on Monday, December 7, 2015 to consider adoption of the 2016 budget for Mason County.  Copies of the 2016 preliminary budget will be available to the public on November 23, 2015.

8.3   Approval to reappoint Jeff Thompson and appoint April Pruitt-Poole to the Veterans     Advisory Board for two year terms each.

8.4   Approval for the Board to authorize Public Works/Equipment Rental & Revolving (ER&R) to use the County Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC) Vendor Roster for written and/or telephone solicitations and award contract for tire repair and towing services for the 2016 calendar year.  Mason County does not guarantee a minimum purchase of these services.  

8.5   Approval for the Board to authorize Public Works/ER&R to advertise, set bid opening date/time, award and allow the Chair to sign all pertinent documents for the call for bids to furnish Mason County with culvert pipe and linings for the 2016 calendar year.  Contract award will be announced at a future Mason County Commission meeting.   

8.6   Approval for the Board to authorize Public Works to use the County MRSC Vendor Roster for written and/or telephone solicitation to establish a surfacing materials unit pricing vendor list for the 2016 calendar year. 

8.7   Approval for the Board to authorize Public Works to solicit a 2016 Letter of Interest list for Construction Project Inspectors, Contract and Fee Appraisers, Construction Material Testing and Timber Management Services and enter into agreement(s) for these services as needed for projects scheduled for the upcoming construction season. 

8.8   Approval for the Board to authorized Public Health to extend 2060 and 2163 Professional Services Contracts for six months to June 30, 2016 to include the following:

        1.  Crossroads-Shelter Operations

        2.  Crossroads-Transitional Housing

        3.  Crossroads-Rental Assistance

        4.  North Mason Resources-Homeless Advocate
