Volunteers Needed to Rank Grant Proposals for Athletic Fields

OLYMPIA – The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office is looking for volunteers to help decide which ball fields and outdoor sport facilities should receive state funding. Volunteers will serve on the Youth Athletic Facilities Advisory Committee, which reviews and ranks applications for state grants to renovate and improve athletic facilities.

June 4 - Shelton Creek Trail Grand Opening

(City of Shelton Parks News Release) - Shelton Parks and Recreation and CHOICE High School CTE program is proud to announce the grand opening of the Shelton Creek Trail.  After nearly eight months of trail construction the .7 mile path through city open space will be officially open to the public. The community is invited to a ribbon cutting on Thursday, June 4 at 10:00am at the southern trail head at 7th and Laurel Streets, behind William G. Reed library.

Call for Artists – Shelton Civic Center Rotating Art Gallery—May 26, 2015

Shelton, WA--   Professional or amateur artists working in two and three dimensional media are invited to apply for gallery exhibitions at the Shelton Civic Center Rotating Art Gallery.  The gallery, sponsored by the Shelton Arts Commission, is very visible to the general public and all visitors that enter the Civic Center on a daily basis.

Apply for WIN! Youth Service Projects by June 15

The Thurston County Water Resources Division is now taking applications from local youth groups and clubs for 2015 projects with the Work Involvement Now program—WIN! But hurry, project applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, June 15. Local non-profit youth groups and clubs that receive approval for their WIN! project and provide a minimum of 40 total hours of labor will earn a $300 stipend. Groups must have a minimum of 10 youth participants who are between 10 and 18 years old, and groups must show sufficient adult leadership to be eligible to apply.
