Sept. 25 - All Are Invited to Attend Free Insurance Enrollment Dinner Summit Pacific Medical Center

(ELMA, WA) – Community members are invited to attend an Insurance Enrollment Dinner at Summit Pacific Medical Center (600 E. Main Street in Elma, WA.) on Friday, September 25 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a complimentary dinner from Café Salute.

The class, led by Kayla Godfrey, SPMC’s Insurance Enrollment Specialist and Monica Ewing, Insurance Broker from Durney Insurance in Hoquiam will be beneficial for those purchasing insurance plans as well as for those who are eligible to receive free insurance through the state.

“Too many people in our area are living without health insurance, which puts their health and their finances at serious risk,” Will Callicoat, Chief Financial Officer of SPMC shared. “We have been working in the community to help raise people’s awareness of the new coverage options, and we’ve also been working with staff to help hospital visitors get more information on how to get enrolled.” Godfrey has helped to enroll more than 600 community members in insurance plans since March of 2014.

Godfrey and Ewing’s presentations will touch on the differences between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement Plans, ways to get commercially insured during Open Enrollment, increased IRS penalties for uninsured and how to sign up for Apple Health and other state insurances.

Godfrey and Ewing will also be scheduling appointments for individual consultations with community members. For those who don’t attend the class, Godfrey has availability Monday through Friday to meet with community members who may qualify for free state insurance, please call 360-346-2269 to make an appointment.

The Community Education Dinner is free and does not require registration. All members of the community are encouraged to attend. For more information, please call SPMC at 360-346-2287 or visit our website at
