The Italian mafia is, too. A lead state prosecutor in southern Italy says he's learned criminal bosses are bothered by the pope's outspoken criticism of corruption and the mafia.

Pope Francis recently condemned the mafia for exploiting and enslaving people and called on members of organized crime to "repent." This week, when talking about corruption, he quoted a passage from the bible, which stated that some sinners should be tied to a rock and thrown into the ocean.
