Banner will depart the team sometime over the next two months, while assistant GM Ray Farmer will take over the team’s football operations. “The purpose of these moves is to unify our team with one, unequivocal goal: Provide our fans with the winning organization they have long deserved,” Haslam said in a statement.

The Browns fired head coach Rob Chuzinski on Jan. 10, after one season at the helm in which he led them to a 4-12. After a search that lasted 25 days, Cleveland hired Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine as their new coach.
