(LAS VEGAS) -- Brad Keselowski passed Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the final lap at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Sunday to win the Kobalt 400. "The car was fast, the team executed, great strategy there at the end and that's what it takes to win," Keselowski said. "You have to hit everything." Which is exactly what Earnhardt and his team weren't able to do.
They took a gamble with the No. 88's fuel and ran out of it on the final lap as Keselowski passed him for victory. "As soon as I got to the top of one and two the past several laps, I felt like he (Keselowski) wasn't going to get me," Earnhardt said. "I felt fine that if we had enough gas we weren't going to have a problem. But we didn't have enough gas."
The win is Keselowski's second of the weekend (he won the Nationwide race Saturday), making it the first time in his career he's swept weekend races. It's also Keselowski's first Sprint Cup win at Las Vegas.
Paul Menard finished third, polesitter Joey Logano came in fourth and Carl Edwards earned a fifth-place finish.
