(ATLANTA) -- Restricted free agent point guard Jeff Teague is returning to the Atlanta Hawks, after the club matched a four-year, $32 million offer sheet he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks earlier in the week. “We are happy to bring Jeff back to our team. He has improved each year of his career and continues to get better,” Hawks general manager Danny Ferry said in a statement.
“At 25, he’s already been a key contributor on a playoff team and we look forward to seeing him develop into even more of a leader on our team.”
Teague was originally drafted out of Wake Forest by the Hawks with the 19th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. He averaged 14.6 points and 7.2 assists per game last season, both career highs.
