Kyle Busch Wins at Atlanta
(ATLANTA) -- Kyle Busch won the Sprint Cup AdvoCare 500 Sunday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It is Busch's fourth Cup win this season, and clinches him a spot in the Chase. Busch started of the race saying the No. 18 Toyota wasn't performing how he wanted. But by the end of the race, everything was figured out and Busch was hanging out in victory lane.
"We faded," Busch said. "I think we were as far back as 18th or something like that at one point in the race. But Dave Rogers (crew chief) and these guys (crew) went to work. They figured it out for me and made it a heck of a lot better. It wasn't great still, but we got in the right position at the right time. The lord was on our side and helped me there those last 28 laps to hold everybody off."
That included runner-up Joey Logano, who led more laps than anybody Sunday and was held off by Busch at the end.
"Second sucks man," Logano told the Performance Racing Network. "But no, my best finish here before I think was -- oh -- about 43rd, so my guys gave me a great car at this race track. "
Martin Truex Jr., Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman rounded out the top-five.
Besides Kyle Busch, three other drivers clinched spots in the Chase including Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards and Kasey Kahne.
There are five more playoff berths to be had. All of them will be secured next week at Richmond.
