(NEW YORK) -- Seattle Seahawks corner Brandon Browner is facing a one-year ban from the NFL for violating its substance-abuse policy, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The 29-year-old Browner missed the final four games last season for the exact same violation. He plans to appeal.
Browner is currently sidelined with a groin injury and will not be ready to play until mid-December, according to Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. According to sources, Browner's suspension could signal the end of his tenure with the Seahawks. He is a free agent at the end of the season.
In eight games this season for the first place team, Browner has 19 total tackles and one interception.
