Cardinals Acquire John Axford from Brewers

LOUIS) --  The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired relief pitcher John Axford from the Milwaukee Brewers Friday in exchange for a player to be named later. The 30-year-old Axford is expected to add bullpen depth to the Cardinals, who enter the weekend just one game ahead of the Pittsburgh Pirates for the NL Central lead.


Giants' Andre Brown Injured Again

Brown limped off the field to the locker room before the end of the first half and was evaluated.


Tim Tebow on Final Cut

Tebow threw two touchdown passes and finished 6-of-11 for 91 yards with an interception on Thursday night in the Patriots 28-20 win over the Giants. All 32 NFL teams will have to trim their roster down to 53 by Saturday.


Robert Griffin III Medically Cleared

Andrews examined Griffin prior to last night's game against the Buccaneers and did not see anything wrong with his knee. "Operation Patience. ...Complete. Cleared. To God Be The Glory," Griffin tweeted after the game.
