Red Wings Lose Howard for at Least a Week

Howard missed eight games in December when he sprained the MCL in the same knee. “It is frustrating,” Howard said. “You’re moving in the right direction, you feel you’re doing all the right things and we were doing all the right things. It’s just bad luck, I guess.”

Bobby Abreu Back with Phillies

The 39-year-old outfielder signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday. Abreu, who played with the Phillies from 1998-2006, can make up to $800,000 if he makes the big league club. Abreu hasn't played in the majors since 2012, when he was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Lions Hire Vince Lombardi's Grandson as Offensive Coordinator

Lombardi served as the New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach since 2009. During that time Saints quarterback Drew Brees has thrown for 19,661 yards with a 68.1 percent completion percentage, 156 touchdowns and has made the Pro Bowl every season.

NFL: Extra Point Could Become Obsolete
