Penn State Hires James Franklin as New Head Football Coach

Allen/Getty Images (STATE COLLEGE, Pa.) -- With Bill O'Brien leaving Penn State for the NFL's Houston Texans, the school has named former Vanderbilt coach James Franklin as his replacement. Even though he was coveted by the NFL, Franklin reportedly agreed to a six-year, $27 million deal.


Yankees' Alex Rodriguez Suspended for 162 Games

Rodriguez' original ban was for 211 games, but he appealed the decision, and still appeared in 44 games for the Yankees in 2013.

Jrue Holiday Out Indefinitely With a Leg Injury

The New Orleans Pelicans announced Friday that Holiday will be sidelined indefinitely with a lower right leg injury. Holiday played in Wednesday night's loss to the Washington Wizards.  He scored eight points in 29 minutes, and it is unclear when the injury occured.


Florida State's Benjamin to Enter NFL Draft

Benjamin caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Jameis Winston with 13 seconds remaining in the Vizio National Championship, helping the Seminoles defeat Auburn 34-31.
