sports2NBA Busy Afternoon Schedule Of Games
With it being Martin Luther King Day, the NBA has a top-heavy schedule of day games. Of the 10 games on the schedule, seven are being played this afternoon.

Three of those games feature a first-place club as the Southeast leading Miami Heat are in Atlanta to face the Hawks while the Clippers of the Pacific are in Detroit and the Raptors, who top the Atlantic Division race, are at Charlotte. The other day games feature the Mavs in Cleveland against the Cavaliers, Washington home to Philadelphia, Brooklyn and the Knicks in the Garden and Memphis home to the Pelicans. This evening, Portland, the lead team in the Northwest Division, is at Houston; Indiana, the leader of the Central, is at Golden State and the Lakers are in Chicago.

A Pair Of Games With Two Ranked Teams
The men's college basketball schedule today features two games with two ranked schools participating. The highest ranked school in action is No. 6 Villanova, and the Wildcats are home to No. 20 Creighton. The other game with two ranked schools has 12th-ranked Baylor playing at No. 15 Kansas. The final game of the night has 11th-ranked Ohio State at Nebraska.

Afternoon Hockey
The NHL has two matinee games on the schedule. The Islanders are playing host to the Flyers in one game, while the Bruins are hosting the Kings in the other. Boston starts the day tied with Tampa Bay for first-place in the Atlantic Division with 63 points. Pittsburgh remains the top team in the Metropolitan Division as well as all of the Eastern Conference with 70 points. This evening, the Penguins are playing host to the Florida Panthers. The rest of the schedule has St. Louis skating in Detroit against the Red Wings, who are tied for the final playoff berth in the East; Dallas is at Nashville; the Coyotes are home to Toronto and Calgary is at San Jose.
